About Forces of Good and Evil (From the official IC site)Two friends, torn apart by destiny, embark on a journey of wonderment and discovery...and we laugh our asses off at them. Forces of Good and Evil is story of a lovely nerd and his bullying friend, who through the inner-workings of the government and public education systems, end up being placed in super-hero/villain schools. Through the classes they take, they will either save the world or take it over. It's kind of like the X-Men meet the O.C., with a healthy dose of Saved By The Bell thrown in the mix.
(What it really is)
About the Creators Chris and Rhys hail from small-town, Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where they decided to base their fledgling comic book company. Being massive fans of comics, they decided to strike out on their own and do things how they felt they should be done. They created Forces in a drunken stupor at about 3 o'clock in the morning on a warm summer night. After a couple of rejection letters, as comic book companies are prone to send, they decided to bring it to the web for free to introduce their new universe, Escher's World. If you're curious. They both write the strip. Chris pencils. Rhys inks.
About Escher's World and Ideal Comics I, Chris, have foreseen this to be the most confusing part of what we do. Let me try and clear things up. "Ideal Comics" is the official name of the company. Our logo has a big IC in it. If you were to find any of our books in a comic book store, they would be in the Independent section under "I." Are we clear on that? Good, let's move on. Escher's World, however, is a little different. It's kind of the pet name we came up with for the cohesive universe that all our characters live in. Escher's World has a long history of super heroes that date back to the 1800s that I would just love to tell you about. But, unfortunately, I'm not much of a record keeper. I have a general idea of it, but I wouldn't be able to do it justice. Rhys is really the one you want to talk to. You can email him here. Of course, we'll probably have something like that on the website at some point. Now that you've been educated, I'm sure you're asking yourself a simple question. "Self, why didn't they just name the company EW Comics?" Well, ask a simple question, get a simple answer. There is already an EW Comics. It's Canadian. I don't think I need to say anything else. |
